The motto of chivalry is also the motto of wisdom;
to serve all, but love only one."

   – Honore de Balzac

Chivalry is the skilled required to become a Paladin. A warrior blessed with paladin abilities can cast a series of magic spells to heal others and himself, as well as enhance his own combat abilities. In order to use those spells, the only true requirement on the paladin will be Tithing points. The Focus skill is also a good asset depending on the combat skill you will have chosen as it will regenerate your mana and stamina passively. Note that you cannot become a paladin unless your account has been upgraded to AoS.

First, you need to purchase the Book of Chivalry which contains the 10 paladin spells and displays the number of tithing points you currently have. You will find those books in Malas. Go to the city of Luna and seek out an NPC Keeper of Chivalry. You can both buy the book and train skills for up to 30 from this guy.

Acquiring Tithing Points

While magery requires mana to be able to cast spells, Chivalry requires tithing points to be able to cast paladin spells. The difference is, tithing points must be bought with gold. You can only have a maximum of 100,000 tithing points at any given time. Each tithing point cost 1 gp, so to have the maximum points, it will cost you 100k. To purchase your points, you will need to go a shrine. Any shrine will do, but one can be found within the walls of Luna: the Shrine of Wisdom. You must carry the gold you wish to tithe in your backpack, so carry as much as you can before you go to the shrine. Single-click the ankh to get the context menu and select "Tithe Gold". You will be asked how much gold you wish to donate. You can either give everything you're carrying, or only part of it in increments of 100 gp. While karma will reduce the number of tithing points required to cast each spell, it doesn't affect the price of buying the points themselves.

Training

Like the majority of other skills, Chivalry gains are based on successes. So if you're attempting to cast a spell and fail continuously, you might want to try an easier one as you will not gain from failures.

Skill Spell
0 Buy skills from NPC Keeper of Chivalry
30 Consecrate Weapon
40 Divine Fury
55 Dispel Evil, Enemy of One
70 Holy Light
82 Noble Sacrifice

The 8x8 method also works with Chivalry. Note that you can wear a 100% lower regs cost to train Chivalry and it will cancel any tithing fee you would normally have to pay. However, you will need to have a minimum of gold already tithed for this to work. If you have 0 gold tithed, you will get an error message even if you are wearing the 100% lower reg suit.

The Spells

While magery has evaluate intelligence, and necromancy has spirit speak, Chilvary uses karma to determine the level of damage or the potency/effectiveness/duration of your paladin abilities. The higher your karma, the more potent your spells will be. The Chivalry skill itself will determine your chances of successfully casting the spell.

Close Wounds 'Obsu Vulni'
This spell heals 7 to 37 damage points, depending on your karma level. Cannot be cast while moving.

Cleanse by Fire, 'Expor Flamus' -
Cures poison from the target, but deals fire damage to the caster. The higher the karma of the caster, the lower the fire damage he will receive. Can be cast while moving.

Remove Curse, 'Extermo Vomica'
Removes curses whether cast by necromancers or traditional magery (clumsy, weaken, feeblemind, paralyze and curse). Your chances at effectively removing the curses depends on your karma. Can be cast while moving.

Consecrate Weapon, 'Consecrus Arma'
For the duration of the spell (on average 10 seconds with glorious karma), your weapon will target your opponent's lowest resistance.

Sacred Journey, 'Sanctum Viatas'
Allows the Paladin to recall. It is a little faster than the normal recall spell and makes no sounds. When using a runebook, you will need to set the default location then recall off the book since there is no icon inside the current runebooks for the sacred journey spell.

Divine Fury, 'Divinum Furis'
Temporarily increases your swing speed, chance to hit, and damage dealt. The downside is that it will also temporarily lower your defenses. The duration of the spell is based on your karma level and hovers around 20 seconds at Glorious level.

Dispel Evil, 'Dispiro Malas'
Dispels evil summoned creatures and/or causes other evil creatures to flee from combat. When used against transformed necromancers, they could sustain mana and stamina losses if successfully forced to turn back into their normal form. The chances of successfully dispelling depend on the caster's karma level and chivalry skill, as well as the target's fame and necromancy skill.

Enemy of One, 'Forul Solum'
After casting this spell, the next target you hit will become your Mortal Enemy. Any damage you inflict to any creature of the same type will be enhanced. However, any damage you sustain from any creature other than your "mortal ennemy" will also be increased. The duration of the spell is also affected by your karma level and last a little over 3 minutes at Glorious level. During that time, any creature of your Mortal Ennemy type will highlight orange to you.

Holy Light, 'Augus Luminos'
This area spell will inflict damage on any non-blue creatures close to the caster. The amount of damage dealt to those creatures depends on your karma level. At Glorious level, the damage is 20-24 on average.

Noble Sacrifice, 'Dium Prostra'
This is area spell will allow you to resurrect, cure and heal any blue player within spellcasting range. In exchange, you will sacrifice all of you HP, mana and stamina but 1 or 2 points, ie just enough to keep you alive. When successful, the resurrected patients will also be restored to up to 24 HP, according to the caster's karma and skills. There is no limit to the number of players that can be resurrected at once
