Skills training is both the best and worse part of this game.  It can be so rewarding yet so infuriating.  Some skills will be a breeze to bring to grandmaster and even legendary level. But for most, it will be extremely difficult.

These guides will attempt to make your life easier on some of them. But once again, there are no miracle recipes in many cases, so you will have to work hard.  Most of the skills described under these links, I have gm'ed myself. However, some of those were done a while ago. As OSI often makes modifications, there might be little differences.  Do not hesitate to email or icq me any notable changes so that I may update the information.

Guaranteed Gain System (GGS)

GGS is now in place.  What it does is guarantee you will gain .1 in any given skill if you use it for a certain period of time at a difficulty level high enough to provide you with a skill gain.  This .1 gain is independent of any other gain you may get through normal gameplay.  For the full story, please visit the official uo.com GGS page.

Powerscrolls

There are 2 types of powerscrolls: skills scrolls and stats scrolls.  Each of these scrolls will increase your normal skill cap of 100 by +5, +10, +15 or +20.

With the skill scrolls, at +20, your title will be displayed as Legendary [insert skill name here].  The powerscrolls are one time use only and are not cumulative (i.e. you cannot use four +5 scrolls to increase your skill cap to 120).  You will need to get the +20 scroll for that.  Also, while your skill cap for the given skill will be increase, you cannot exceed the 700 skill cap total of any character.  This means, even you cannot have 7 skills at 120.  Whatever scrolls you use, you will not be able to train your skills beyond 700.  So you could have a character with 5x 120 and 1x 100.  Or any other combination that will not exceed 700.

For the stats scroll, these will actually increase the stats cap beyond the usual 225.  A character will therefore be able to reach 250 in stats.  The scrolls come in +5, +10, +15, +20 and +25.

The powerscrolls can be obtained by killing champions in Felucca dungeons.  These champions only yield skill scrolls for the following skills: Bushido, Ninjitsu, Swordsmanship, Fencing, Mace Fighting, Archery, Wrestling, Parrying, Tactics, Anatomy, Healing, Magery, Meditation, Evaluate Intelligence, Magic Resistance, Animal Taming, Animal Lore, Veterinary, Musicianship, Provocation, Discordance, Peacemaking, Stealth and Stealing.  The stats scrolls can only be obtained by killing the Harrower (Arch Champion).

Good luck and enjoy!
